'An ordering canopy' forms the core idea of the design. At first glance this canopy gives the existing building a second façade and lightens its heavy mass by terracing it. Defining an in-between zone between interior and exterior, it also gathers many functions beneath it: entrance, presentation, service, hearth and transition areas.
